You have chosen the relevant model of ventilation system, bought a recuperator and ordered mounting with a diamond drill. Do you think you are all ready for the installation of the recuperator?
It is often that at the moment of installation the user starts to think about the connection to the mains, the decor of the device and the interior integration. The device is designed for long-term operation, therefore, installation must be approached carefully and consider the smallest details to ensure that the operation of the system brings maximum comfort.
Aesthetics and quality of installation often depend on how the customer is prepared.
But again, that is not all, because when choosing a mounting area for the recuperator, you need to consider the location of the inner and outer cover in the room and on the facade of the building.
For example, in the room you need to consider the location of furniture, air conditioning, other ventilation systems (kitchen umbrella or exhaust fan), etc. And outside – the location on the facade with other grilles of ventilation systems, gas boiler emissions, distance to any obstacle, etc.
Therefore, before installing the equipment you need to consider the following points:
- installation zone;
- the thickness of the walls;
- exact length of the recuperator body according to the wall thickness;
- method of connection to the mains;
- plastic elements color;
- decor of your system (if needed).
The PRANA employees will help you determine the best installation area, according to the specifics of the room and the building as a whole.
Users should know that there are some features of the recuperator installation in the basements. The outer grate of the recuperator must be at a distance of half a meter above ground level, otherwise, dirty air, snow, dust, rain and other contaminants will enter the device, which will interfere with the proper operation of the system.
If you are thinking about installing a recuperator and air conditioner, you should know that there are some peculiarities. The distance between such devices must be at least 30 centimeters. The recuperator must be located on the same level or above the air conditioner. If this is not possible and the recuperator will be located under the air conditioner – for efficient operation of both devices, we recommend using them alternately.
The length of the working module is also an important issue when choosing equipment. The PRANA company makes recuperators taking into account individuality of the order of each client. To do this, our specialists need to know the thickness of the wall in which the recuperator is mounted. Measurement of wall thickness can be ordered from our specialist or done yourself.
In addition, it is worth knowing that on the street side, the condensate drain hole should protrude from the wall by at least one or two centimeters, and on the room side the cover should be firmly adjacent to the wall.
Considering drilling, there are minimum diameters of holes for PRANA recuperators, namely:
- PRANA 150 (minimum 162 mm)
- PRANA 200G /200C (minimum 220 mm).
Do not forget about the slope of the hole in the direction of the street 2-3 о for proper natural drainage of condensate. Under such conditions the maximum efficiency of the ventilation system is achieved.
As for the interior of the room, PRANA offers users a wide range of recuperator cover colors for both interior and facade installations. However, this point should be considered and agreed in advance.
Irregularities or leaks in the mounting hole can be hidden with a decorative ring. The use of plastic or metal rings is allowed. We also recommend using a windshield for additional decoration outside or when using the recuperator on high floors (from the fifth and above).
As for the power supply of the recuperator, it is connected to a network with a standard power of 220 watts. There are two types of connection of the equipment: by means of a plug in the socket or connection directly to the house electric network (if the cable is already laid to an installation hole). It is necessary to decide on the connection option before installation.
The standard complete set of household recuperators includes a cable, 30 cm long, which ends with a mounting terminal.
If you take care of all these moments in advance, the recuperator will provide maximum comfort and coziness to each member of your family and will be a stylish element of the design of the room!
