Installation in 2 hours

PRANA recuperators are compact units. Domestic and semi-industrial models are easy to install and can be installed in 2 hours without breaking the repair. The process consists of four steps:

  1. Selection of the installation area.
  2. Drilling the installation hole.
  3. Installation of the recuperator.
  4. Connection to the mains.

Choosing mounting area

For the correct operation of the device, the outside air intake and exhaust, PRANA household models are installed in the wall adjacent to the street. It is important that there is a possibility of drilling. The recuperator is installed at the top of the wall 100-150 mm from the ceiling, adjacent wall and other obstacles.

The choice of mounting area is also influenced by the presence of the indoor unit of the air conditioner. For efficient operation of both units, the recuperator is placed on the other wall, or above it, or on the side at least 300 mm away.

Mounting hole drilling

Drill a hole in the outside wall at an angle of 2-3° towards the street. Observing this slope is necessary to effectively drain the condensate that may be created during the recuperation process.

The hole is made with a diamond drill. The diameter is chosen according to the model of the recuperator:

  • PRANA 150 – at least 162 mm;
  • PRANA 200G – from 220 mm;
  • PRANA 200C – not less than 220 mm.

The wall installation of recuperator

At the stage of ordering we clarify the thickness of the wall in which the installation of the system is planned. The working module is made of the appropriate length.

The installation of the recuperator is made in the mounting hole on the sealant or adhesive foam. The operating module is hidden in the thickness of the wall, leaving only the ventilation grilles: one inside the room, the other on the facade.

Connecting to the power grid

The PRANA recuperator is connected to the mains with 220V 50Hz. There are two ways to do it: with a plug in the socket or directly to the network of the house. In the first case, you must immediately provide a socket near the recuperator. The second way is to run the cable to the installation area.

Important! Connection of the ventilation system to the electric network must be done by a qualified electrician. It is obligatory to deenergize the power supply before carrying out the work.

Key rules of installation

Location in the room

Front cover of the recuperator must not be obstructed by foreign objects (cupboard, curtains, etc.).

Location on front

For correct removal of condensate without damaging the facade of the building, the condensate drain hole should protrude 1-2 cm from the wall level.

Condensate drain

To do this the condensate drain hole must be positioned so that it is oriented vertically downwards.

How to avoid freezing

To prevent the condensate from freezing on the way out, the condensate reheat cable must be positioned at the bottom of the enclosure and must extend all the way down to the drain opening.

An infrared film located on the internal duct of the heat exchanger is used to prevent the heat exchanger from icing up.

Wind loading

When installing the heat exchanger in the windy area or at the height of 4 floors or higher we advise to install a wind shield.
