Recently, PRANA recuperators are often used to organize effective ventilation of swimming pools, spas, saunas and other rooms with high humidity.

Ventilation and air conditioning are one of the main elements of any room with a swimming pool: from a sports complex to a small private pool. The durability, reliability and maximum possibility of using the pool depend on the correct organization of these components.

High-quality ventilation of such premises allows to provide important parameters for proper functioning:
  • comfortable temperature;
  • the required humidity;
  • speed of air flows;
  • high-quality air composition.
Water and air temperature

The main parameter responsible for the comfort of the pool is the water temperature on which we are very demanding. According to the norms, a certain water temperature must be maintained in swimming pools:

  • standard and large swimming pools – 22 ° C;
  • training pools – 23-26 ° C;
  • pools of medical purpose – 26-28 ° C;
  • individual pools – 24-28 ° C;
  • pools for children – 28-30 ° C.

The air temperature in the pool should be 1-2 ° C above the water temperature. This is due to the fact that the evaporation of moisture from the surface of human skin is an additional removal of heat. It causes a feeling of cold, as at very low temperatures in the room. With such a temperature difference, people swimming in the pool are comfortable and moisture evaporation is minimal.

Relative humidity

Recommended relative humidity of indoor pool air – 50-70%

Low humidity in the room (especially in winter, when the outside air contains very little water vapor), leads to drying of mucous membranes and increases the possibility of colds. High humidity reduces evaporation through the skin and limits the body’s ability to maintain a constant body temperature (suffocation).

Air velocity

The speed of air movement in the working area of indoor pools must exceed 0.3 m / s.

Multiplicity of air exchange

The frequency of air exchange in the pool is 4-8 times, or according to the recommended individual calculation.

Features of ventilation system in rooms with high humidity

The pool is used periodically, however, during non-working hours humidity and heat remain. Unfortunately, it is very rare for pool owners to use a special coating for the water surface, which can significantly reduce the amount of wet evaporation.

Although 25-35% less moisture is generated in the empty pool, the load on the ventilation and air conditioning equipment is still maintained. Reducing the temperature at night in such rooms is not recommended, because it increases evaporation from the surface of the pool. Therefore, air conditioning equipment should never be turned off in the pool.

In addition, according to sanitary and hygienic requirements, chemicals are added to the water to neutralize organic matter and microorganisms left by swimmers. These chemicals can cause air pollution, which in turn can cause skin irritation in swimmers.

In addition, an efficient ventilation system helps to solve a number of other important issues: to organize the proper supply of air through air ducts, to ensure optimal pressure distribution and dehumidification to the required level.

One of the best solutions for the organization of high-quality and modern ventilation of swimming pools is the installation of PRANA recuperators. Qualified specialists of our company will make an individual project for your facility, taking into account all your wishes, features of the layout and size of the pool.
